I decided to go really relaxed and simple for today’s card. It’s a fun layout from a Mystery Card Challenge that I did with my newsletter followers. It’s a great card for those times when you need a card fast and don’t have lots of time.

This version of the card doesn’t use any matting layer. Here are the cutting directions:
Designer Paper: 2 pieces 3″ x 1 7/8″
Card stock: 2 piece 1 7/8 x 1 7/8″
The cardstock squares are Soft Sea Foam and are embossed with the Bark Embossing Folder. The pretty paper is from the Pansy Petals Designer Paper Pack and the greeting is from the Pansy Patch stamp set which coordinates with the Pansy Petals paper.
To add a bit more interest to the card, add another layer behind the decorative pieces.

Here I’ve used the Wild Cats designer paper and stamps. The added Basic Black paper is 5 1/4″ x 4″ and the decorative blocks remain the same size but are spaced a bit closer. If you don’t have an embossing machine, the square pieces could be stamped, or even left plain.
