Fall Colors

As I sit looking out my north facing window, I see a riot of fall colors against a soft blue background. The tree right outside my window is a weeping birch. It was damaged heavily when a tornado hit our farm five years ago, but it hangs on tenaciously. Not as pretty as it once was, it continues to shelter our house, the birds and I’m sure, a thriving colony of insects. We lost 50 trees from our farm yard in that storm, so I treasure the remaining trees, survivors, even though they have lost their youthful glory.

I hope that you have a wonderful day and have a chance to appreciate the natural beauty around you.
