Fall Fun with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder

Today I have two similar cards made using the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder. One uses only the embossing folder and the other uses the Embossing Folder and the Die.

Well Defined Fall Card

The leaves on this card were first die cut from the Beauty of the Earth Designer Paper and then embossed with the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder. I had actually planned on using the other side of the designer paper, but liked the side with the reds better, so this is actually the back side of the embossed image. I really like that the die set comes with the stitched label to add the greeting. To coordinate with the Rich Razzleberry leaves that drew me to this paper, I decided to stamp the greeting from the Well Defined stamp set in Rich Razzleberry ink.

The 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Old Olive paper is also embossed using the Merriest Frames Embossing Folder. You can see how pretty this embossing folder is without any die cuts! With the die cut layer ‘flipped’ to the back side, the two images don’t line up and more of the embossed leaves are visible on the Old Olive layer. For a bit of shimmer, the 3/8″ Shimmer Ribbon is added between the old olive and Beauty of the Earth layers. I’ve also added 6 of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels in multiple colors.

The inside is left blank. I thought that I could use it for fall birthdays, Thanksgiving or a thank you card by adding the appropriate greeting when I mail the card.

Tags 4 For Thanksgiving

This card was one that I thought of while I was creating the first one. I loved the Old Olive embossed layer on top of the Cinnamon Cider card base and wanted to try a card where the embossed layer really showed. The Thanksgiving greeting is from the Tags 4 You stamp set from the 2013 Holiday Catalog. It had a matching punch to make quick work shaping the label. It is stamped on Cinnamon Cider paper using Cinnamon Cider ink, and is layered onto a small piece of 1 1/4″ burlap ribbon. Genial Gems are scattered across the front to give a bit of sparkle to an otherwise earthy card.

The inside is also stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink and the greeting is from the Pretty Pumpkins stamp set. The leaf is from the Time of Giving stamp set. The leaf stamp has 3 leaves on it and I carefully inked just the one leaf. If you want to do it in a more sure way(Like, take your time and do it right, hahaha), use a piece of scotch tape and cover the leaves that you don’t want to use, ink the stamp, then remove the tape before stamping.

Tomorrow I will be sharing the regular Swap Card Friday post and Saturday is a DOswts blog hop with a Sketch Inspiration theme. So, my next Merriest Frames card will have to wait until Sunday.
