What’s Cookin’

Today’s card was made especially for my grandson Salem. We are celebrating his 4th birthday this evening and he really enjoys playing with kitchen sets at his preschool. For his big present his mom got him a cool kitchen so I got him a Melissa and Doug Mixer set. This stuff is so cool that I’m going to have to set up a play date so that I can go play kitchen with Salem! I remember as a child that one of my friends had a whole play kitchen set up and I was just green with envy. I had a little one foot tall metal sink, stove and refrigerator, but it wasn’t as cool as her full size (to a 4 year old) set.

I absolutely LOVE the way this bowl stamps! The bowl and both utensils are die cut with the matching die set. The only thing that is popped up is the handle of the spoon. I used an exacto knife to cut a slot in the bowl to tuck the spoon into.

The pretty heart paper is from the Hostess Special paper pack called Pattern Party. The pretty scalloped layers are cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies. I even die cut the spoon and shaker for the inside, just because I was having fun die cutting, hehehe.

Now I’m heading to the kitchen to use my mixing bowl and make a Strawberry Paw Patrol cake with some kitchen theme. I have several ideas swirling around in my head. I’ll share a photo tomorrow of what I come up with.
