Seasons of Fun Christmas

I just love the little kids in the Seasons of Fun Hostess Reward stamp set! To finish up my last dozen or so Christmas cards, I decided that I wanted to play with this set a bit more before it moved to the retired shelf.

I combined it with the label die from the Sweet Stockings Die set, to create a fun canvas for the stamped images. Next, I colored the images with Stampin’ Blends. Part way through coloring I thought that the little dog would make a great baby Clifford. So, I made a few Clifford and Emily Elizabeth’s. Have you seen the new Clifford movie? I hope to get to see it soon. The Clifford books were top on my list as a child at book fair time. I still have several 1970’s era copies.

To give the impression of movement, I placed the label at the edge of the designer paper layer rather than at the center. With the greeting stamped at the right edge of the white strip. I liked how it made the images feel like they were moving across the card.

For just a bit of sparkle I added some Wink of Stella to the star and snowflakes. To add green to the tree, I finally found that the best way to get the right amount of color was to add dots to the branches rather than draw a line. It was fun to play with different color combinations. I think that I liked the red and green best.

Most of the cards were done in the landscape orientation but I did try a couple portraits. The label was a bit too long though and I had to trim a bit off the end. I much preferred the ones that were landscape.
