Every year Stampin’ Up! has a ‘Giving’ stamp set. A portion of the purchase goes towards a good cause. Usually, it’s one of the first stamp sets that I purchase from a catalog. This year, I didn’t get the Strong of Heart stamp set right away, and then when I did purchase it, I was hot and heavy into Christmas cards. Today, I’m playing hooky again, lol. I should be finishing up my Christmas cards, but when I was putting away my goodies and straightening up my craft room from the aftermath of the Montrose Craft Fair, I found my pile of uninked new stamps. I’m promising myself that I will get the rest of my Christmas cards made this evening and ready to go in the mail tomorrow morning!
This layout might look familiar, I used a similar one for many of my Christmas cards, using the Christmas Deer stamp set. This card though has less layers. Both the Just Jade and heart layer are 3″ squares. The heart is stamped on Watercolor Paper with Stazon ink. Then it is spritzed with water and stamped with the fill in stamp with Polished Pink ink. I wanted the flowers to be a bit more filled in and darker, so I used a Water Painter and added more Polished Pink ink to the flowers, and a bit of Just Jade to the leaves.
After it was dry I added some Wink of Stella, just to the flowers to add a little sparkle.
The greeting is from a new stamp set, Love & Happiness, that will be available in the January to June Mini Catalog starting January 4. It is layered onto a strip of Diamond Weave Ribbon. The inside of the card is blank, until I decide who is getting the card.
