A former co-worker passed away from Covid recently. Although, I do have a nice pile of sympathy cards at the moment, I thought that today would be a good day to make another. I have tons of Christmas decorations that need to come down before we leave for our trip south, plus a cute puppy to play with so I wanted to make a very quick and simple card.

My original plan was to stamp the greeting directly onto the 3 3/4″ x 5″ Simply Marbleous Designer Paper, BUT, I stamped the greeting on crooked, lol. So I stamped it again onto the scrap left over when I cut the 6″ x 6″ designer paper and punched it out with a 2″ Circle Punch. Next, I layered the punched out greeting onto a 2 3/8″ Scalloped Circle. The leaves are from the Painted Poppies stamp set and are done with Bumblebee ink, then a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Bumblebee cardstock is layered beneath and then its added onto a standard 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Crumb Cake card base which was scored at 4 1/4″. The Simply Marvelous Designer Series Paper is one of the items from the January to February Sale-a-bration Event.

The inside is layered with a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of the same Simply Marbleous Paper and once again I stamped the greeting crooked. I’m going to blame it on the cold medicine that I took earlier, lol. So, I stamped the greeting again, with Bumblebee ink, onto another scrap of the Simply Marbelous Paper, but before adhering it, I used a sponge dauber to ink the edges with Bumblebee ink. I love this greeting from the Through it Together stamp set! The Peaceful Moments stamp set also has a nice inside greeting for a sympathy card.

On a lighter note, our sweet little puppy still doesn’t have a name. I think that Sweetheart is still in the running, but Ethan hasn’t told us yet what he has decided. I’m getting tired of calling her puppy. She is getting more comfortable with her surroundings everyday. Max, our beagle, is teaching her to stay AWAY from his food dish, and the table when we are eating. So far he has been vocal but gentle with her. Luckily, she seems to respect his growls.
