Valentine Critters Sampler

Normally, when I am home, I decorate for every holiday. Sometimes it’s just some old ratty mementos that the kids made years ago in school, but somehow it always helps to get me in the spirit of the holiday. This year we are living in our camper for the winter down in Florida and of course, I don’t have any Valentine decorations, so I decided to make a sampler to hang. I’m missing all of my animal friends and decided to make a ‘critter’ sampler in their honor.

I chose the Hello Ladybug, Awesome Otters, Catching Butterflies, and Happy Hedgehogs for my critters and then added a heart in the middle from the Conversations Hears with a greeting from the Love & Happiness stamp set. To get the heart outline without the words, I just inked the edges of the stamp, then added the greeting from the Love & Happiness stamp set inside the heart. I used a variety of Stampin’ Blend colors, including some of the new skin tone markers to color in the images. I also used the Ladybug and Hedgehog Punches.

The 8″ square sampler fit just right in the space between the cabinets and now I have some Valentine cheer!

The red or pink matte layers are 2″ square and the inside basic white or pink layers are 1 3/4″. The black and white designer paper from the Daffodil Afternoon made centering the squares pretty easy.

The Awesome Otters stamps, Catching Butterflies stamps, and Daffodil Afternoon paper are all SALE-a-bration items. Each can be earned for free with a $50 purchase. The Sweet Conversations stamps have a coordinating die set that can be purchased as a bundle for a 10% savings. The Love & Happiness stamps also have a bundle option, with a hybrid embossing folder and die.
