Have you ever tried adding ink to an embossing folder? It can add some unique designs and colors to the embossed images.

For today’s cards, I used the Seashells Embossing Folder. Of course, there are two sides to an embossing folder and depending on the look that you want you can add ink to either side. For the card on the left the raised side of the embossing folder was inked and the card on the right the ink was added to dished in side. I used my ink spots from the Paper Pumpkin kits to add the ink but using a corner of a regular ink pad would work as well. To clean the embossing folder, simply hold under running water.

As you can see by this close-up view the ink isn’t perfectly aligned with the images, but I didn’t expect it be. If you are a perfectionist and absolutely need to color IN the lines, this might not be the technique for you, lol. The greeting is die cut with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies, sadly this die set is retiring, so make sure to order it soon! The Faux Sea Glass Embellishments fit perfectly with the seashell theme for this card, three are added to the greeting circle, one in each color. I love these Faux Sea Glass Embellishments and I’m super excited that they are going to be in the next Annual Catalog, YAY! I left the inside of this card blank so that I could use it for any occasion.

I could not get the color on this photo to look like the real item. It’s much lighter in real life. The reds are Calypso Coral and the greens are Just Jade and Simply Succulent. This image of the seashells made me think of shells and weeds squished into the sand like a pressed collage.

I did add a greeting to the inside of this card. I just love the idea of collecting friends along the way!
I hope you have a wonderful day! Remember today is the last day for the Saving In Bloom Sale.
