Here For You

Today’s card was inspired/CASE’d from an event hosted by Sara Douglas, Stampin’ Up! CEO. The event was to raise money for Lifting Hands International to be used for Ukraine. You can watch the replay here.

Of course, I had to change up the card and make it different from the original. I did use the Here For You Dies and the 2021-2023 In Color Designer Series Paper (different colors of course). Here are the cards from the Facebook Live. I CASE’d the one on the top left.

The cards from the Live Event were all done in Blue and Yellow in honor of the Ukraine flag.

The background for this card starts with two pieces of the 2021-2013 In Color Designer Paper cut to 3″ x 2″. Next, they are stamped with the border stamp from the Flowering Tulips stamp set across the DSP in the coordinating color ink. The original card used a stamp from the Hello Beautiful stamp set, which I don’t have. Remember to be creative and substitute what you do have! Then, the DSP is torn into strips, wide enough to use a tape runner on, making sure that the white edges show on one side. For the end one, tear both edges. Finally, adhere them to the white card base, overlapping the pieces. These are adhered rather randomly, but they could also be placed in a neat row like on the original card.

Before die cutting the words, adda piece of sheet adhesive to the white cardstock. When removing the backing on the adhesive be very careful because these letters are fragile and will tear. The scraps did seem to peel out with the backer rather nicely. I did have to run it through my Stamp Cut & Emboss machine several times to get through both the cardstock and the adhesive. Carefully twisting the die and paper together (you need to hold the paper and dies so they don’t move) so that it rides through the rollers at a different angle on a repeat pass really helps to make a better cut.
