Garden Grandeur

This morning I started cutting the paper packs for the paper share that I host. If you aren’t familiar with paper shares, the way that I do it is to get 4 people who want to purchase a 1/4 share of each of the designer series papers in a new catalog. I order all of the papers and then cut and repack everything for each person. This year the cost was $53 for the 1/4 share. There were 4 specialty papers included as well as all of the designer paper stacks. Its a fun way to get a little bit of each paper and see which ones you need a whole pack of. If you are interested in getting a share of paper, let me know and I will put you on the list for the next set of 4.

For some reason, I just wasn’t feeling the need to order full packs for myself, so I took one of the 1/4 shares for myself. As I was looking, exploring, touching, thinking, etc.. while cutting the papers, I was falling love with some of the designs! The Butterfly Kisses was so bright and cheerful and the Texture Chic is just gorgeous in person!

This time of year is so busy for me! I love to garden and be outside, mowing the grass is a twice a week chore right now and the new puppy loves to run outside, but needs constant supervision. Of course, I still love to spend hours stamping! If only I didn’t get so tired! I remember my mom complaining about being tired as she got older, now I know what she meant! Do you find yourself becoming overwhelmed during spring and early summer? I know that I sure do!

Today’s card features the Fern 3D Embossing folder and the Gardening Grandeur Hostess Reward stamp set.

I’m loving the new In Colors! I was playing with the Parakeet Party and other greens in the Stampin’ Up! colors and chose to combine it with Old Olive for this card. I did rub some Parakeet Party ink onto the embossed images with a Blending Brush.

Next, I decided to play with the Garden Grandeur Hostess set. I was playing with Real Red, Poppy Parade, and Sweet Sorbet inks and using the two step stamps in the set but wasn’t happy with results. The two step stamps in this set seem to not be meant to line up with the outline images and I need to play with them more before I get it right. I did really like the outline images by themselves though so went ahead and used one of my experimental pieces for the card. The images are stamped with the Parakeet Party and Sweet Sorbet inks, then die cut with one of the Deckle Rectangle Dies. YOU HAVE TO ADD THESE TO YOUR ORDER TODAY!!! You are going to use this die set constantly! After adding the Parakeet Party Metallic Ribbon, I decided that I need a tag for a birthday greeting. The Tailor Made Tags Die set is another MUST HAVE set. The greeting is from the Celebrating You stamp set and I colored in the word birthday with a Sweet Sorbet Stampin’ Write Marker from the In Color marker set. I’m hoarding my Adhesive Backed Flower Trinkets but did part with ONE for this card. The In Color Dots make great flower centers.

Remember to add the Deckle Rectangle Dies to your order! You really need these! Clink on the links below to add these items to your order. Want it all? Use the add all button at the bottom of the Product List for easy one click shopping.
