Softly Falling Emboss Resist

Sometimes simple kitchen items can be used for a fun technique. This Embossed Resist Technique uses simple wax paper.

To create the Embossed Resist Panel, first cut two pieces of Basic White paper 3 3/4″ x 5″. Cut a piece of wax paper slightly larger, say 4″ x 5 1/4″. Choose an embossing folder and emboss the wax paper. Next, layer a piece of copy paper, the Basic White paper, wax paper, second piece of Basic White paper and a sheet of copy paper on top to protect the iron. Use an iron on medium heat to transfer wax onto the cardstock. It’s next to impossible to see the wax on the cardstock at this point, so don’t expect to see anything. Make sure that you know which side the wax is on for each piece of paper.

Use a Blending Brush and rub ink (Daffodil Delight here) over the Basic White paper to reveal the designs from the embossing folder. Stamp the leaf using Pumpkin Pie ink. Both pieces of paper will have designs so you can make two cards. Here are all of the paper dimensions:

  • Daffodil Delight card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/4″
  • Basic Black 4″ x 5 1/4″
  • Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Basic Black 1″ x 3 3/4″
  • Basic White 3/4″ x 3 3/4″

Once again, I can’t believe how fast this summer has gone! The State Fair has started, kids are going back to school, the days are getting noticeably shorter, all those projects that I was going to get done are still undone…sigh. At least I can say it was a good summer.

Among all the things that are ending, so is the SALE-a-bration Event. Be sure to look over all the items that you can get for free. Then check your stock of supplies; cardstock, DSP, adhesives, maybe even a new stamp set or punch, place an order and for each $50 of product purchased choose a free item from the SALE-a-bration brochure.

I would suggest buying your favorites right away because these dies will go fast! If you already have the stamp set, the dies are available to purchase separately, but if you need both, then purchase the bundle and save 10%. Below are the 6 sets that will be available during the Perfect Partners Event.
