For today’s card, I’ve combined the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper with the Happy Hedgehogs stamps. The Happy Forest Friends Suite is found on pages 46-47 of the 2022-2023 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog. It’s a fun whimsical nature suite with stamps of an owl, bear and fox as well as mushrooms and tree stumps. It’s one of the stamp sets that I haven’t gotten yet, but I did have to have the designer paper. The Happy Hedgehogs fit right in with the Happy Forest Friends DSP.

There are three different patterns of the Happy Forest Friends DSP on the background of this card. The Happy Forest Friends DSP had 12 different patterns to choose from. One side of each paper has forest scenes and the other side has forest inspired patterns. Each strip is 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ and they are layered onto a 5 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Calypso Coral cardstock. The base is Sahara Sand.

The images are colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers:
- Hedge Hog: Medium Nature Tones
- Bird: Orchid Oasis and Tahitian Tide
- Beak: So Saffron
- Flower: Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather, Old Olive
- Mushroom: Calypso Coral, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Smoky Slate
The mushroom has an outline of Smoky Slate drawn around it before it was fussy cut. The animals were stamped onto a piece of Basic White and then one of the Deckled Rectangle Dies was used to cut them out. A second Deckled Rectangle was cut using the same sized die but in Early Espresso. Next, it was cut on my trimmer diagonally and then glued to the back of the image rectangle. This was done to define the image rectangle but not take away from the pretty background papers. Both the rectangle and the mushroom are popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is from the Through It Together stamp set. This is one of my favorite go-to greeting sets! It has 21 greetings for many occasions. Another favorite is the Stylish Shapes Die set which was used to cut out the greeting. The Stylish Shapes Dies contain several sizes of these labels as well as squares and circles in layering sizes all with the pretty stitching. Can you find the 2 Brushed Brass Butterflies? I spend several minutes deciding which embellishments to add to this card and finally settled on the butterflies. They show up really well when the card is tipped but not so much in this photo.

For the inside of the card, another greeting from the Through It Together stamp set was used and some more images from the Happy Hedgehogs set. These are colored with Watercolor Pencils. If you want to use Stampin’ Blends for coloring these, I recommend cutting a Basic White 5 1/4″ x 4″ liner to add to the card. The Stampin’ Blends bleed through the paper and would show on the back.
I hope that you enjoyed this card and are inspired by it to create one of your own. Recreate it as it is or take one of the elements that you like and make your own unique card. Below are links to the items that I used, if you don’t already have a demonstrator I would appreciate your business.
Product List- The Hedgehog Builder Punch was not used on this card, but if you purchase the Happy Hedgehog stamp set you need the punch too!
