TGIF! I’m not sure why, but even when I’m retired Fridays seem better than Mondays, lol. Today’s cards use the versatile Cottage Wreath stamp set from the Gingham Cottage Suite.
The Gingham Cottage Suite contains the Cottage Wreaths stamp set, Country Wreaths Dies, Silver Threaded Twine, Pearlized Enamel Effects (3 colors), and the fun Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper.
Beverly’s Halloween card starts with a Rich Razzleberry base followed by layers of Blackberry Bliss, Smoky Slate, and Basic Gray. The large Smoky Slate layer has been embossed with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder and the little spider is done on vellum. The little dots on the wreath are actually made with the Black color of the Pearlized Enamel Effects. They actually appear more silver than black, but are really cool. These would make great nails on a guy card! The stamping is all done with Early Espresso ink and the bow is done with Black Baker’s Twine.
Cathy’s card made with the exact same stamp set has a totally different feel and theme for a thoughtful Thanksgiving card. The base and 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ layers are done in Crumb Cake cardstock with the layer floating on dimensionals. The 1″ x 4 3/4″ Soft Suede Strip has been stamped with the little oak leaves with Soft Suede ink. A 1 3/8″ x 3 1/2″strip of the Gingham Cottage DSP in Pumpkin Pie adds a nice pop of color.
There are 2 different wreath stamps in the stamp set and 4 different wreath dies in the Country Wreaths Dies. These cards show both stamps but Cathy has chosen to use the Decorative Circle Punch for her wreath for a bit different look and to give a center white area to stamp the greeting. The wreath is also popped up for more dimension. The bow is sponged with the White Pearlized Enamel and then die cut with the one of the 2 wreath dies in the Country Wreaths Dies set. A couple of die cut sprigs and a single Elegant Faceted Gem complete the card.
