The inspiration for this card comes from three different sources. The first is The Card Concept #181 Challenge, the second is the SplitcoastStampers Layered Autumn Scene technique video by Cindy Gilfillan and the third is the STARS October Challenge Tic Tac Toe square for a Thinking of You card.
This card sticks pretty close to the one done by Cindy in the SplitcoastStampers video except that I switched the light green grass color for the Blackberry Bliss color from the Card Concept challenge. This Mixed Media card was definitely a step out of my comfort zone.
This is such a pretty fall scene, just yesterday we went up to do some fall clean up at our cabin and the lake was still and beautiful like in this photo. Below is a photo of Cindy’s card from the SplitcoastStampers video.
My first try at Cindy’s technique doesn’t quite equal hers but it was fun trying something a bit outside of my normal work! For me, that is one of the important elements of stamping, having fun!
The shadows were drawing in with a Blackberry Bliss Stampin’ Write Marker. Here are the paper dimensions that I chose to use:
- Pumpkin Pie Base 7 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ Scored at 4 1/4″
- Blackberry Bliss 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Shimmer Paper 5″ x 3 3/4″
- Very Vanilla 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ Inside Layer
