Baby Shower Cards

Today’s cards stem from a request from the Creative Gals Craft and Sew Emporium in Buffalo, Minnesota, where you can find my handmade cards for sale. I’ve combined that request with a challenge for the DOstamperSTARS group, which is to use a background stamp. Over the years I’ve purchased many background stamps but the Rays of Light stamp just might be my favorite!

This first card uses all current products which can be found on my online store.

This card combines the Rays of Light stamp with a greeting from the Charming Sentiments stamp set. It’s super easy to create. No die cutting, coloring, or fussy cutting! The Lemon Lolly base is 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. The next layer is Pecan Pie at 4″ x 5 1/4″. The Ray’s of Light stamp is done on a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White with Lemon Lolly ink. The greeting is stamped i Pecan Pie ink on a 1″ x3 3/4″ piece of Basic White with a 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Pecan Pie paper beneath. Five gold Adhesive Backed Sequins are scattered across the front.

Tips for using large background stamps:

  • Place the stamp on a firm, flat surface with the image facing up
  • Apply the ink, covering completely
  • Carefully place the paper onto the stamp
  • cover with a piece of printer paper and rub to transfer the ink, and remove the printer paper
  • Carefully remove the cardstock from the stamp

These next 3 cards use the Tag Time stamp set from 2004. I love the little shower umbrella and just had to pull it out for these cards! This card uses Boho Blue.

This one’s done in Bubble Bath ink with a Gorgeous Grape ribbon.

The final card is again done with Lemon Lolly with some Mint Macaron touches.
