Faux Metal Embossing Technique

Hello and happy Monday! I hope that you had a relaxing weekend. Today I’m sharing a card created with the Unbridled Beauty stamp set. The Faux Metal Technique was used for a challenge that I am participating in and I used the directions from this Faux Metal Embossing Technique.

I’ll have to admit, it was scary pushing my stamp into hot, melted plastic! I did ink it first with the VersaMark ink as directed in the video tutorial and it did come out fine.

The image got a little scuffed from my old embossing plate. I did it again, I would either not die cut the shape or use a fresh embossing plate.

Do you recognize the Eyelet Blooms Die? It’s the April Product of the Month, get it for only $5 with a $75 order.

I used a Blending Brush and added ink to the larger flowers on the die cut. The main label and the smaller label are both cut using the Sweetest Words & Labels Die, part of the Silly Old Bear Suite available in May.

I wanted little bows on each side of the greeting, so I wrapped a piece of ribbon around the card and adhered to the back. Then I tied two separate bows and adhered them with glue dots.

I kept the inside simple. It could be a sympathy card for a friend who lost a horse, or a birthday card, or just to reach out to say hello.

Hope you have fun with the technique.
