I am having a ball with my new Hot Foil System! Have I said that before? Sorry if I’m repeating myself. I guess I just like shinny things. I’ve got three more cards today done with the Butterfly Flight Hot Foil Die Bundle. I’m not sure why anyone would want just the dies or just the masks so I’m suggesting that you purchase the entire bundle if you get these.

All three cards use some of the Luxe White Specialty Designer Paper which is part of the Vally in Bloom Suite. They also have greetings created with the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies.

This card starts with a Thick Basic White Base. The matte layer is a 3 5/8″ x 4 5/8″ piece of Hydrangea Hue cardstock. I’ve chosen the Lily of the Valley pattern from the Luxe DSP for this card. It’s 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″. I’ve used Blending Brushes to add Granny Apple Green ink to the leaves and Hydrangea Hue ink to the background, trying to leaving the flower blossoms white.

The butterflies done with Basic White paper I think were colored with Bubble Bath, Fresh Freesia, and Petunia Pop inks but I put the pads away and can’t remember for sure. The little butterfly was done with Vellum paper was colored with Bubble Bath ink.

To create the double bow, I simply cut two pieces of pink twine the same length and tied them together. They are adhered with a glue dot.

The greeting was done with the Classic Greetings Hot Foil Dies and Gold Foil. A scattering of Basic Rhinestones finished the card.

For my celebrate card, I wanted a fun background and found it in the Painted Illusions paper pack which was a Product of the Month Special earlier this year. The Luxe While paper was colored again with Blending Brushes only this time I started with Bubble Bath diagonally across the center, added Strawberry Slush on both sides diagonally and finished with Melon Mambo on the corners.

The little Hydrangea Hue butterflies have a vellum top with a rhinestone on center. Some Metallic Thread was swirled under the greeting.

The final card uses the third pattern in the Luxe White Specialty Paper without any color added to it. The remainder of the butterflies from the pink colored group were used on this card. The large Hot Foil Die creates 5 butterflies so they can be used for one or multiple cards.

I hope that you have been inspired by these cards.

I do want to remind you that the Hot Foil System is meant to be used with the Stamp’ Cut & Emboss Machine. It won’t fit in the old Black Big Shot, I’m sad to say. I’m unsure which machines it may fit in other than the Stamp’ Cut & Emboss, but it does need a wider platform.

That said if you don’t have the Stamp’ Cut & Emboss Machine, now is a great time to update your machine. I love having two die cut/emboss machines so that I have them set up for different uses.
