Swap Card Friday

Happy sunny Friday (at least where I live)! Today I have three cards that all use designer paper as the focal point. Let the paper do the work!

Dawn’s card uses the Luxe Foliage Designer Paper, which was the Product of the Month in August. The 1 1/2″ squares on this card were die cut with the Stylish Shapes die, but if you don’t have dies, cutting simple squares would work too. One of the squares is popped up with dimensionals as is the greeting.

The greeting is stamped on a label created with the Three Banners Punch. If you don’t have this punch, simply cut a strip that is 2 1/4″ x 1/2″. To create the flagged ends, snip into the end in the center and then snip from the corner to the end of the cut line.

The card base is Basic Beige paper, giving it a soft background. Two metallic gems coordinate with the foiled paper and finish off the card.

This second card was also created by Dawn, she is the master of using punches in unique ways! This card starts with a Pecan Pie cardbase and features 4 cut outs from the Advent Labels Punch of the Sunflower Fields Designer Series Paper. The greeting comes from the Radiant Sunflowers stamp set. She inked up only a portion of the greeting, using just the word hello. The greeting is popped up with dimensionals. I love the angled cut on the end! A signature bow (Dawn loves ribbon) of Linen Thread is tucked under the greeting with a glue dot.

My final card for today didn’t have a name attached, so I’m not sure who to give credit. It uses the Waterside Retreat Suite. The base is Pecan Pie, with the first matte layer of Grey Granite (4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″), matching the label. The wood layer is 4″ x 5 1/4″.

The Pecan Pie matte layer for the bicycles is 1 3/4″ x 4 1/4″ while the bicycle layer is 1 5/8″ x 4 1/8″.

The matte layer for the life jackets is 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ with the life jacket layer being 1 1/8″ x 4 5/8″. Lots of narrow edges matting layers.

The retirement greeting comes from the Sunset Coast stamp set and is popped up with dimensionals. The cute Loose Anchor Trinket is attached with a short piece of Linen Thread. Three Pecan Pie dots complete the card.

I hope that these fun cards spark some ideas for using patterned paper to create pretty cards.
