This past Saturday we hosted our annual family Pumpkin Carving Party. This year our pumpkins were a bit smaller than normal so those who wanted larger pumpkins had to purchase them. It was a beautiful day so the kids had fun running around outside. We could have even carved outside but everything was set up in the family room so we stayed there.

I’m not sure who enjoys the day more, the adults or the children. I chose to enjoy from the side lines and act as a gopher for needed items.

Pumpkin man. He ended up with hands and was painted before Isaac finished.

Like her brother, Lily added some painted highlights to her pumpkins.

Wyatt put a little pumpkin in pumpkin jail.

Huntley put Marion on his pumpkin.

Salem’s pumpkin was some kind of gruesome thing with painted blood.

Zen did a pumpkin with some creepy strings left hanging inside. This is what MY pumpkin would look like minus the strings, lol.

While we were all inside playing, my husband was outside working. The retaining blocks on my flowerbed were tipping out after 25 years. I did help remove the soil but relaying the blocks was a job for a perfectionist. It looks awesome again now.

We also got 2 new barn kittens. Our barn cat Jinx disappeared 3 weeks ago. My hope is that he found a new home, but I’m afraid that he met with disaster. He was so lonely after my horse died that he started wandering farther from the barn. We were just waiting for these kittens to get bigger and then he would have had some company.

They are locked in one of the horse stalls for now, but will have free range once they get settled in. We decided on Crunchy and Fluffy for their names. Crunchy is a feisty little thing and Fluffy is a sweetheart.
My next post will be back to card making but I just had to share my fun weekend with you.

I am glad everyone had a good time. Gary’s job was the easiest, I hated carving pumpkins
