Lighting the Way Birthday

This card makes me think of camaraderie and stories told around campfires. Tipping back a few and swatting mosquitos.

The card starts with a So Saffron base for a warm glow. A piece of Hues of Happiness DSP is layered behind a frame made using the Deckled Rectangles Dies. The birthday greeting is from the Art Gallery stamp set and the label is cut with the matching Floral Gallery Dies.

The lantern, cut with the Lighting the Way Die set, started out with real red cards stock, but looked way too clean, like a pair of white tennis shoes on a kid just set outside on a muddy day, lol. To distress the lantern, a water painter brush was used with Basic Gray ink and by tapping the brush the ink was splattered over the lantern. Then, I sponged Soft Suede ink on the edges with a sponge dauber. Perfectly aged!

The inside greeting and starry swirls are from the Lighting the Way stamp set. The 1/4″ strip of Hues of Happiness DSP finishes it off.

Thanks for stopping by the Roost! Hope you have a great day. Click on the links below to purchase the supplies used to make this card.
