Shark Frenzy Fold Back Pop Up Card

Doo Doo Doo Doo…..

The Fold Back Pop Up Technique is one of my favorites and I had to see if I could fit the Shark Frenzy images into the design. Although the big sharks run off of their squares, I thought it turned out pretty AWESOME!

Grandma Shark is stamped with Coastal Cabana and has Poppy Parade lipstick (lips). Both her purse and glasses are accessorized in Highland Heather and she is sporting some Petal Pink pearls. Both the glasses and purse are cut with the matching Shark Dies. Don’t you love her long eyelashes?

Notice the cool, air bubble circles? There are 2 dies in the Shark Dies set that cut out bubbles. One creates the fun outline bubbles used here and the other creates filled circles.

Grandpa Shark looks pretty dapper in Pretty Peacock. His gray mustache gives him a dignified look, don’t you think? I added in a few strokes of Basic Black so he doesn’t look TOO old.

Baby Shark has a suit of Pacific Point and a matching bow tie. The song is stamped around the greeting layer in Pacific Point ink. Every time I see that words, I hear the toon of that old campfire song.

The card base is a simple 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ with 2 score lines instead of 1. Score at 2 1/8″ and 4 1/4″ to create the fold back front flap.

Cut 3 pieces of the Whale Of A Time Designer Series Paper 1 7/8″ x 5 1/4″ and adhere to the panels as shown.

Cut 1 Whale Of A Time 2 1/8″ square and cut diagonally. Use these to fill in the inside corners as shown above.

Cut 2 white squares 1 5/8″ for the Grandma & Grandpa Shark. After stamping, layer onto 2 1 3/4″ Scalloped Squares cut with the Layering Squares Dies. Adhere on the front being sure to put adhesive only the half that will sit on the front. The other half needs to hang loose.

Cut a 2 5/8″ white square. Stamp the song all around the edge. Use a Post It note to mask off if needed and layer onto a 2 3/4″ square of Balmy Blue card stock.

Cut another white 2 5/8″ square and cut diagonally (one 1 piece is needed per card). Stamp Baby Shark on this one. Cut another Balmy Blue 2 3/4″ square, score on the diagonal and then cut off the tip on one side. Layer Baby Shark on to this and adhere to the folded area as shown above.

Need to SEE the card created? Watch my Shark Frenzy Fold Back Pop Up Video Tutorial. I think you might enjoy it. It might make you look for the old JAWS movie though, heheheh. Have fun with this one.
