Simple Stamping with Sweet Strawberry

If you need a quick card or are looking for a simple card to start learning how to stamp, these three easy to recreate cards might be a good place to start. I’ve create a Simple Stamping Tips & Tricks Video Tutorial to cover some of the techniques that I’ve used to create these cards.

Sweet Strawberry Simple Stamping Version 1

This card starts with a Basic White Thick card base that is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″. I actually score my card base first, at 4 1/4″ then turn it and cut it at 5 1/2″ so that I have 2 card bases ready at one time. I always use the Thick Basic White for my card bases and the regular Basic White for everything else. I’ve only used 2 ink colors on this card, Real Red and Old Olive, two of my favorites. I used the little ink spots for this card. I like them for the partial inking technique, where you use the ink pads to carefully ink only a portion of the stamp. Watch my Simple Stamping Tips & Tricks Video for more information on this technique.

This next card adds Real Red card stock for the base and a Tuxedo Black ink pad for the strawberry outlines and the greetings. The Basic White layer is 3 3/4″ x 5″. I stamped myself right out of room for the greeting in the upper left, so had to get a little creative and ink up one word at a time and stamp one word under the other to make the Thank You fit.

Because the Real Red card base it too dark for the inside, I’ve added a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White and stamped a couple of flower outlines in Real Red.

Sweet Strawberry Simple Stamping Version 3

For the final version, I’ve added a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Old Olive card stock behind the 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Basic White. Then, after adhering the two layers together I’ve wrapped a piece of Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim around them and adhered to the back. I tied a separate bow and adhered it with a glue dot. Then that whole layer is adhered with Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up. The stamping is pretty similar to the version 2 card. I did the leaf topper outlines on the strawberries with Tuxedo Black ink instead of Old Olive. As a final touch I added 4 of the 2020-2022 In Color Enamel Dots to the centers of the flowers.
