Today’s card features images from the Happy Hedgehogs stamp set and a greeting from the Expressions of Friendship Hostess set from the January to June Mini Catalog.

The flower and bird were stamped first in the bottom right corner and colored with Stampin Blends. I like that they are two separate stamps so that the bird can be placed in various spots.

The background was created with one of the Butterflies and Flowers Layering Decorative Masks and Embossing Paste. My Embossing Paste is getting a bit dried out so I added a little water and mixed it. Most of the supplies that I use for stamping last a very long time, but the Embossing Paste is something that I would recommend using up within a year or so for best results. I used a silicon sheet and placed a glob of Embossing Paste on it then mixed in a drop of Granny Apple Green ink. After applying the first spatula of paste, I decided to add more Embossing Paste to give the background an Ombre look. I ended up adding paste once more to get even lighter at the bottom. The Embossing Paste dried fairly quickly. I used Stampin’ Seal + to adhere the layer to the card base because it did curl a bit.

The little hedgehog is actually 3 punched layers. The bottom layer is stamped on basic white cardstock, then the face, belly and legs are colored with Stampin’ Blend Markers. I used the 500 and 300 Natural Tone Markers which can be found on page 128 of the 2022-2023 Annual Catalog. I believe that they are from the Medium Deep and Medium sets. The spiky fur is stamped twice on a piece of Soft Suede paper with Tuxedo Black ink and then layered onto the base. The whole hedgehog is added with dimensionals as is the greeting.
I hope that you enjoyed this little critter card and the Embossing Paste technique.
