Creative Cards Wednesday

I’m writing this post between classes. On the 2nd Wednesday each month I hold a Creative Cards Class at my home. This is the first time that I’ve offered two classes in the same day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Later this week I will share the cards that we created but today I wanted to share the new wall hanging that I created and some pretty flowers that I’m sharing with my class participants.

I’ve had an empty nail staring at me on my wall since Christmas and this morning before class I decided that it was time to hang something back up. It had to be quick and easy to make. I had a 6″ x 8″ piece of the Happy Forest Friends Designer Series Paper that looked perfect. The frame that I had was an 8″ x 8″, so I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow 8″ x 8″ and then cut my Happy Forest Friends DSP 6″ x 6″. The Calypso Coral banner was created with the Very Best Trio Punch. The Biggest Wish stamp set had the perfect ‘Happy’ greeting but I wanted it to say Be Happy so I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color in a B and an E from the other stamps to create my greeting. It did take me a couple tries to get it spaced out the way that I liked. Then I needed just a bit of bling so I added two of the cute Bumblebee Trinkets which are retired, but I had a few left over.

Every year I plant hundreds of gladiolus bulbs and then they seem to all bloom at once. They are planted in my large vegetable garden in the backyard and it seems sad that I’m the only one who sees them. So, I decided to cut a dozen of each color and share bouquets with my class participants.

They are so pretty! Now I think I’ll finish up and take a nap before the next class.
