Swap Card Friday

Yesterday I shared my first card made using the Aspen Tree Dies, so I thought it would be a great time to share some swap cards that I received using the Aspen Tree Dies.

I absolutely love this card by Lisa Miltakis! It’s clean and simple but so classic. The leaf die is included in the Aspen Tree Die set and the greeting is from the Perched in a Tree stamp set which coordinates with the dies. The 4″ x 5 1/2″ Crumb Cake layer is embossed with the Timeworn Type 3D embossing folder and 3 Champagne Rhinestones (my personal fav) were added for just a little sparkle. This card could be used for just about any occasion. Simply swap out the colors and greeting.

Shelly’s card uses the bird and branch from the Perched in a Tree stamp set which are cut with the matching dies from the Aspen Tree Die set. The patterned paper from the SALE-a-bration Rings of Love DSP pack works perfectly with this card. The Linen Thread bow makes me think of birds gathering nesting material. The greeting, also from the Perched in a Tree set, is die cut with one of the Deckled Rectangle Dies as well as the Suede rectangle behind the bird which is also embossed with the Falling Leaves Embossing Folder. On top of all this awesome detail, the card is also a fun fold!

The front has an extra score at 2 1/8″ and a die cut leaf, popped up with a dimensional, is added inside to hold the piece in place so that the card can stand.

I hope that these cards inspire you as much as they did me. I know that I’m going to be using this fun fold idea in my card class and the simple line of leaves is so classic!
