I’m having a hard time getting back in the groove after a long weekend unplugged, lazing around up at the cabin. I finally got a card made this evening after a nice walk with my friend Kathy this morning and a 2 hour nap on the couch.

The border strip was created with 1/4″ strips of the Hues of Happiness and Design A Daydream Designer Series Papers. The strips are layered on at an angle on a 1 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Flirty Flamingo cardstock. The card base is also Flirty Flamingo for an in the pink birthday card.

The little birthday pig was stamped on a piece of basic white cardstock that I had been experimenting on by inking a clear block and then stamping onto paper randomly to create a background. I didn’t like the results but thought it might make for a nice dirty pig look. Think Pig Pen from Charlie Brown! The image was then colored using Stampin’ Blend Markers. Both the pig image and the die cut label are popped up with dimensionals.
I hope that you had a wonderful holiday weekend and are all ready for a new season!
