Friends are Like Seashells

Hello and happy hump day! Today I’m starting on a new DOstamperSTARS challenge. This month it’s Stamping ABC’s and today’s card is E=Embossing Folder.

The star of the show is the Seashells 3D Embossing Folder! A 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of the Pearlescent Speciality Paper was embossed and then the images were colored using Stampin’ Write Markers. I found the images from this embossing folder easy to color. They have very defined edges. I used soft colors like Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink.

I did have trouble stamping the greeting on the Pearlescent Paper, it didn’t want to dry as fast as I wanted to work and it kept smudging, so I ended up using Stazon ink to stamp the greeting.

For the inside, the large shell was inked with Soft Sea Foam and stamped off before stamping over the greeting. This piece is Very Vanilla cut to 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″.

Check back tomorrow for another version of this card, but with the shells fussy cut out after embossing and coloring. It gives a very different look using the same supplies.
