Sympathy Card with Silhouette Tree in Browns

Good Morning! At least it’s morning while I’m writing this. I love being up and watching the sun brighten up the night sky. I have a beautiful view from my desk in the corner of the living room. Having my stamping corner in the living room isn’t a perfect (it’s messy!) solution but I actually like it better than being in a bedroom (at my Minnesota house). I have this gorgeous view and I’m not in a little box which is overflowing with stamping supplies (now whose fault is that, lol!).

I really wanted to take Max (our 11 year old Beagle) out for a walk when I got up, but he thinks he needs to hunt the squirrels (there must be thousands of them!) and when beagles hunt, they bay. Max’s bay isn’t a nice low beautiful sound, it’s a piercing, screeching one, yikes! Out on the farm in Minnesota not a big issue, but here in the resort with houses elbow to elbow I think I would quickly land in the dog house with Max.

So, if you saw yesterday’s card, this card is very similar, but I decided to share it as well to show how by switching up the color or greeting placement can give a card a different look. This is also good to keep in mind when you need to use the supplies that you have and not purchase every ink pad color on the planet. (But it is nice to have them all, hehehe!)

The patterned paper in the background is from the Happy Forest Friends and is one of the patterns on the back side of the papers. Most of the Designer Series Papers by Stampin’ Up! have a themed design on one side (trees and animals in this case) and a ‘simple’ pattern on the back. Sometimes both sides are totally awesome and a coin needs to be flipped to decide which side to use, lol.

The greeting on this card is heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder to make it stand out from the tree image. If you don’t want to heat emboss, simply cut a strip of the very vanilla cardstock to fit the greeting and stamp the greeting on it and adhere over the tree. The Linen Thread is my favorite ‘ribbon’. I hope that Stampin’ Up! never stops carrying it!

I hope that you have a wonderful day.
