Today’s card features one of the stamp sets, Adorable Owls, that is Free with a $50 purchase during the Stampin’ Up! SALE-A-BRATION event. The set has 6 red rubber stamps, 3 owls and 3 greetings.
The colors on this card are from a challenge that I am participating in. They are Mango Melody, Fresh Freesia and Petal Pink. Not a color combo that I would naturally choose, but it’s nice to step outside of ones comfort zone sometimes. The Petal Pink background has been embossed with the Tree Rings Embossing Folder which was carried over from the July to December Mini catalog. The Fresh Freesia 3″ square is from the Butterfly Kisses Designer Paper Pack, which was also used on the envelope flap. The narrow layer behind the owl is from the Texture Chic Paper Pack and pulls in some more Mango with a bit of foil too.
The owl is colored with Stampin’ Blend Alcohol Markers. If you want to copy the colors here is what I used:
- Body Medium Natural Tones both light and dark markers
- Face and Chest Gray Granite both light and dark
- Beak and Feet Pumpkin Pie light
- Inside of Ears Petal Pink dark
- Eyes Balmy Blue dark
- Bow Tie Fresh Freesia both light and dark

- Basic White Thick Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
- Mango Melody 5 1/4″ x 4″
- Petal Pink 5″ x 3 3/4″ embossed with Tree Rings
- Butterfly Kisses DSP 3″ square
- Texture Chic DSP 2 1/4″ square
- Basic White 2″ square
- Mango Melody 1″ x 2″
- Basic White 3/4″ x 1 3/4″
For the inside another 3″ square of the Butterfly Kisses paper was used and a 2″ square of Basic White. The Valentine greeting is from the Love Cats stamp set (another adorable critter set!).
