Today’s card is a pocket style slider card featuring the Seaside Bay stamp set from the Jan-April Mini catalog combined with the also awesome and watery Friends Are Like Sea Shells stamp set from the 2022-2023 Annual Stampin’ Up! Catalog.
The card base is formed into a pocket with a slot for the crab to scuttle along. The version above has a watercolored background because I ran out of the pretty By the Bay Designer Paper with this pattern. I copied the paper as closely as possible. Below is a version of the card using the By the Bay paper.
In my Pocket Slider video tutorial I show how to recreate the paper using inks and a brush on Shimmery White paper. I had fun playing with different colors of red and blue inks to make the crabs. I found that I liked using sponge daubers to apply the ink.
Paper Dimensions:
- Base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4″ and 8″ cut a slot where the slider will be from 1″ to 4 1/2″
- DSP or watercolored piece 3 3/4″ x 5 1/4″
- Basic White 3 3/4″ x 5″
- Tab 1/2″ x 3″
Immediately after stamping the crab a Blender Pen was used to move the color into the white areas, then a Wink of Stella brush was used to add some glitter.
When the greeting is pulled out the crab scuttles across the card and an area for a little note is revealed. I love the way that the Seaside Bay and Friends are Like Sea Shells stamp sets coordinate together!
