The #DOswts405 Challenge this week is to stamp with Rubber Bands. Let me tell you this is another super fun technique! I did have to borrow some rubber bands from my fellow stamper Sandy Reid to avoid a shopping trip to town. Thank you Sandy!

I chose the On the Farm stamp set for my rubber band card and went with greens and yellows for a grassy, hayish feeling. The rubber band layer was oversized and then trimmed to 3 3/4″ x 5″ and matted with a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Early Espresso cardstock. The rubber band layer is done on a Soft Sea Foam cardstock and the bands were first inked with Garden Green, cleaned and then done with Crushed Curry. The windows were die cut with the Picture This die set which is a larger die that cuts the circles all at once. The set also contains another die that cuts rectangles.

The animals are stamped onto a piece of basic white cardstock which is 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″. Pencil lines were lightly drawn in the circles for placement of the animals and Post It Notes were used to block off the areas that overlapped. The pencil lines were erased after stamping.

The animals were colored with various Stampin’ Blend Markers. The greeting die cut is from the Stylish Shapes Die set but was shortened by running it through the die machine twice to cut both ends. Simply make the first cut lined up on one edge where you want it, then snuggle the paper back into the die but with the other edge where you want it shortened.

The inside layers have the same dimensions as the front, for a consistent look. The images and greeting inside are stamped with Garden Green ink.
I hope that you give this Rubber Band Stamping Technique a try! I’m anxious to see what the other STARS Challenge participants did with their cards! Be sure to click on the BLUE FROG below to see a list of the other Rubber Band Stamping Technique cards in the #DOswts405 Challenge.
