Sunshine & Smiles Paper Pumpkin Kit

The February Sunshine & Smiles Paper Pumpkin Kit really grabbed my attention! I love critters and the critters in this kit are so darn cute! I actually made up all of the cards and used every bit of the kit except for 2 clouds and a couple of gems.

Rather than open the spot that came with the kit, I used my Mango Melody ink pad. My pad has gone bad on me, but I love the way it stamps for items like the sun. Even better, I now have the new spot from the kit to use when I want even inking! The only thing that I did different on this card was to ink up the kite stamp with Tahitian Tide ink instead of the Mango Melody.

For this card, I added some of the Brass Butterflies and gold Adhesive Backed Sequins. These cards are going to be sent to my grandkids and six of them are boys so I tried out the gold sequins for a less girly look, lol.

For my final card using this design, I pulled in another rabbit. This one is from the Playing in the Rain stamp set and Playing in the Rain Dies. I moved the greeting and again did a Tahitian Tide kite. The rabbit is colored with So Saffron and Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blend Markers.

I actually put a mini stampin’ dimensional on each of the rabbit’s paws and then placed the greeting on them to make him hold the sign.

Because these are going to my grandkids, I pulled out the A Grand Kid stamp set and used this greeting. Hopefully, the siblings won’t think that grandma likes one of them more than the others, lol. Because I love each of them in a special way, because they are all unique.

For this card, I moved the greeting to the inside of the card. Before inking the ‘friends in any kind of weather” greeting, I taped off the word friends, then removed the tape before stamping to leave off the word friends. This is a great technique for switching up greetings and extending their uses.

For my final card using this design of card base, I used some stamps from the Easter Bunny stamp set and the Bunny Punch.

This bunny is colored with Granite Gray and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend Markers.

The little bird is fussy cut and colored with Tahitian Tide and So Saffron Stampin’ Blends.

These would make great Easter cards, but I’m going to be sending them out this week. Instead of Easter they are going to be ‘grandma is really missing you’ cards. I love the sunshine and green plants here in Florida but I miss my family and even some pretty fluffy snow back in Minnesota. (Not the freezing rain or ice though)
