Okay, my card doesn’t have eggs or ham but, I have to tell you the story of how this card developed. I took some cards over to sell at the Creative Gals Craft and Sew Emporium in Buffalo Minnesota. If you get a chance, stop by there! Anyways, they carry Boba Tea, and I’ve been sort of like the cat in the Green Eggs and Ham Dr. Seuss book. My girls keep telling me that I should try it but the idea of those bubble things had me saying, ‘no I do not like Boba with Bubbles, Sam-I-am”. So I decided to buck up and give it a try, and like the cat in Green Eggs and Ham I find that I do like it! So I decided to make a card inspired by my Boba experience!

I decided to use one of the 30 different characters on the Zoo Crew Designer Series Paper (there may be more but that’s how many I came up with on a quick count!). There aren’t dies for all of them so this was fussy cut. I thought that this goat with the mixing bowl fit the breakfast theme and was also colored like the old Dr. Seuss books, mostly black and white with just a splash of color.

Doesn’t she look like she could be in the book?

Now, I doubt if I will be using the back side of the Zoo Crew papers but here is a peek at them. You may notice in the photos that there are two different greetings on the card? That’s because I still haven’t decided whether I like the banner greeting or the circle greeting. Which do you like best? The circles are from the Stylish Shapes Dies, the banner die is included in the Zany Zoo set. I know I’m rambling but I realize that you may only have the bundle that is featured on the card and I like to give you options to create a card with just the one bundle.

So here is one with the banner greeting. The ribbon used here comes in a combo pack with Azure Afternoon, Bubble Bath and the Lemon Lolly used here.

The black 1n7/8″ square on the card is actually cut with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies but could easily be just cut on a trimmer. This one has stitching for a little something extra.

The card base is Lemon Lime Twist and the matte layer is Pool Party. The matte layer looked too empty to me so I stamped the greeting in blocks going every which way with Pool Party ink. The main Happy Birthday greeting is also stamped with Pool Party ink. There is only one banner die in the Zany Zoo Die set so the matte layer (Lemon Lime Twist) was created by gluing the Pool Party banner greeting to a scrap of Lemon Lime Twist and then fussy cutting around it.

Have you noticed that each of the backgrounds in these photos is a different sheet of the Zoo Crew paper?

Boba Tea anyone? Would you like it in a house? Would you like it with a mouse? How about at a card class at the Creative Gals Craft and Sew Emporium?

I almost forgot to show you what I did on the inside! Basic White 5″ x 3 3/4″ with 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ Pool Party strips. Pool Party ink with the confetti colored in with markers. Thanks for stopping by at The Roost, I hope that you enjoyed my Zany creation. Let me know which shape greeting I should glue on permanently to my card!
