Swap Card Friday

Hello Friday! I can’t believe it’s already the last Friday of May. I have a huge order ready to go on Tuesday some of which are items from the upcoming July Online Exclusive Release. I’m waiting until Tuesday so that I can get the awesome Wild Bunch Product of the Month stamp set!

Demonstrators get to order early to start making samples and test out new products. Sounds like fun? Check out the May Join Special for more extras. If you purchase a Starter Kit you can even add items from the July Release.

Today’s card aren’t technically Swap Cards. Swap Cards are ones that I have received from other card makers in exchange for a card that I created and gave them. Today’s cards are ones that I got as a kit from my team leader, Dawn Olchefske, for completing a challenge in March.

This card uses a technique that I’ve shared in the past. To create the colored strip across the card, tear post-it notes and place on both sides. Then use a Blending Brush to add color between the masks.

I didn’t have the Nature’s Symphony Bundle so I substituted the Rolling Waves stamp set for the words and the Springtime Scenes for the images.

The inside uses both stamp sets as well.

This card is a classic! Luckily Dawn included the die cut leaves, they are from the Nature’s Symphony set. One of the first layouts that I used when I started making cards was placing squares along the folded edge. These squares are 1 1/4″. The double bow was easily created by tying it with two pieces of thread.

I’ll have to admit that I don’t care for the layout on this card because it can’t stand up. I do however like the way the images and pieces look together. The bottom 1 1/4″ has been cut off the bottom edge of the card front. I would skip this or would place the arched die cut all the way to the bottom so that the card could stand.

In this view you can see the partial cut front and the layering on the inside of the card.
