Today I’m sharing some cards that I created with the Relaxing Waterside Bundle, part of the Waterside Retreat Suite. What first caught my eye about this set was the chair images and dies.

There are dies to create two different styles of chairs. The same base is used for two of the chairs with different backs to change the style.

This chair has a straight back and I’ve done a small amount of shading on it. These first two chairs are created with dies which are layered and have no stamping.

While this one has a curved back and a bit more shading was done on this one. I’ve used Watercolor Pencils for the shading on these chairs.

This chair was a bit easier to make. There is a stamp to create the image and a die to cut it out. This one was stamped with Azure Afternoon ink onto Azure Afternoon paper. A small amount of shading was done on this image with a blue Watercolor Pencil.

To showcase the chairs I created 3 cards with the exact same layout. They all start with a Basic White Thick card base. Next, is a Basic White die cut arch from the Arches Dies. I’ve shaded the arch with Balmy Blue ink on the top and Crumb Cake on the bottom using a Blending Brush.

Each card has slightly different accessories added. I’ve used different greetings on each card to show some of the great greeting that this set offers.

The 3 grass clumps and standing gull on this card are all stamped, die cut, and then colored. The life jacket is fussy cut from the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper. All of the stamped images except for the gull were done on the Wood Grain Wonder DSP. It added more texture to the images.

The coffee cup and book match me to a T! While the family plays out in the water I like to relax in a comfy chair with a book.

I did this chair using colored cardstock instead of the Wood Gain Wonders DSP used on the other chairs.

On these two photos I experimented with adding dimensionals to the ‘board’ which creates the front of the seat on the chairs. The card on the left has dimensionals and the card on the right is adhered flat. I don’t think that the dimensionals added to the image and I probably won’t add them on future cards.

This card was created during my Waterside Retreat Video Tutorial and uses a panel scene from the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper for the background. There are 2 sheets in the pack with panels that can be cut apart. This is the largest of the panels.
