World Card Making Day

Did you get a chance to make some cards on Saturday? I had a fun afternoon with friends making cards. It was nice to actually sit at the table where I host classes and actually participate in the card making, lol.

I chose to play with Frosted Pinecones Bundle and created some Christmas cards.

I love the way that the masks make shading the pinecone so easy! I didn’t use the final mask, which adds the frost. Instead I brushed Wink of Stella over the pinecones. It doesn’t show up on the photos but it adds a subtle sparkle to pinecones.

The greetings were done with the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Dies and Copper Foil. Only two ink pads were used, a brown tone and a green one.

The Thick White Card Bases are covered in Wrapped in Plaid Designer Series Paper. I wish that I had written the dates on my DSP packs! I have no idea how many years ago this paper was retired, but my tired brain remembered it and I searched through my retired DSP racks.

I was actually hoping to empty a pack of retired embellishments but didn’t manage that. I dug through my stash to find some metallic ones.

I didn’t like the way that the stem of the bough looked unadorned so I added a small bow.

I managed to get these five cards done and started coloring and die cutting some cute images from the Christmas Crew Bundle.

This week is supposed bring us some dry weather so I’m hoping to get out and do some yard work. The weather man is starting to talk about frost so that means it’s time to start putting the gardens to bed for the winter.

I wish that I had thought to take a photo of our messy table during our World Card Making Craft together to share with you, but I was too busy having fun, lol.

Here are links to the main supplies used to create these cards. You will also need a Hot Foil Machine, Stamp Cut & Emboss Machine and some ink pads. I also highly recommend a Stampin Positioner for the large pinecone image.
